( 2 )Young dog swallows knife ( in WPE )

  A young dog in Britain swallowed a kitchen knife nearly as long as his body . The little dog is called Jake and he is 12 weeks old , living with his owner John Mallett in Liverpool , England . Jake is a lovely and naughty dog , he spends his days runing (running )[注]around and eating everything he sees.

  One day , John found that Jake was throwing up something of the stomach through his mouth and trying to keep his body in a straight line .John was worried and then took him to the vet (兽医veterinarian的简写)quickly.

  X-rays showed why the dog was throwing up : A kitchen knife was runing through his body! The knife was 7 inches long , the handle (刀把)was at his bony frame within the hip-bones and the point of the knife was at the top of his throat (喉咙). It’s too dangerous . That’s the reason John quickly sent the dog to the vet .

  Jake is now as healthy as he was . What a dog !

作者附言: 在WPE中提倡取消双写形式,首先把词型变化中出现的辅音双写改为单写。
